Storage Area Networks (SAN)

Storage Area Networks (SAN) allow for flexible mapping of storage resources to individual servers where they are actually needed.

This solution brings many advantages in terms of safety, reduced maintenance costs and failure rates, and increases the efficiency of resource use, so it should be implemented even in small-scale server rooms.

The use of SAN allows for:

  • Flexible allocation of disk resources for infrastructure
  • Backing up data on tapes, on another matrix system etc.
  • Minimization of the occurrence of failure and redundancy of disks
  • Increasing the efficiency of resource management
  • Increasing throughput of servers between resources
  • The ability to easily scale the size of your data center
  • Reliable access to data through the use of two arrays operating synchronously, in case one is damaged
  • Assigning faster disks to services where you need them (e.g. servers, databases), and other available disks for file storage systems, where speed is not so important

We specialize in virtualization of SAN solutions, which allows better management of the storage infrastructure, thus reducing costs.

Without the SAN approach, each server must have its own hard drives, susceptible to data loss. There is also the possibility of assigning a flexible disc as required, as they are related to the specific machine. This increases the financial costs, the risk of failure and the level of complexity of infrastructure, because we cannot manage it from one place.

Our company plans, implements and maintains solutions based on technologies of such brands as:

  • Cisco
  • EMC
  • IBM
  • HP 3PAR
  • HP Brocade
  • Hitachi Data System
